IT Class: Face Melt

All students at the IFC take a Tuesday evening Technology course, taught by Lecturers Crooks and Yue, that explores the intersections of technology and art and design. They build skills that are applicable to any specialty they might decide to later major in.

Currently, students are focusing on learning the basics of Adobe Creative Suite. This past Tuesday’s class had a special way to combine the skills of Photoshop’s basic commands, transforming objects, creating layers and masks and adjusting transparencies: Face Melt.

Students were entirely entertained and engaged throughout the lesson, as they took the photographs of IFC students and faculty (as well as a few celebrities!) and melted them into one another, creating new humans. Next week, one “average IFC student” will be cr&

101;ated, made up of all 85 of our IFC students’ photographs.
