On 4th December, university presidents, Professor Stephen Beal and Ron Burnett, from two of IFC’s important partner universities in North America of California College of the Arts and Emily Carr University of Art and Design, were invited to IFC by Director Huang Li when attending the International Art University President’s Forum attached to the 95th anniversary of CAFA.
Accompanied by Director Huang Li, Professor Beal and Mr. Burnett met IFC teachers and students when they visited the studios and workshops. Two IFC studio lecturers introduced the on-going IFC courses in detail to the two presidents. The presidents questioned the students in English about their concepts and methods after IFC students showed them their work and sketches. IFC also arranged a further discussion between the two presidents and IFC students who had planned to apply to these two universities, during which Professor Beal and Mr. Burnett answered questions about courses, majors as well as internship opportunities.
After Beal’s regular annual visit to IFC this year, he noted that not only had the quality of IFC facilities improved but also the students’ ability was much more comprehensive than previous years. Mr. Burnett also made positive comments on the professional and lingual abilities of IFC teachers and students, and expressed confidence in the potential for IFC students’ acceptance into further education overseas.
