Chris Whittey, the Vice President of CIA (Cleveland Institute of Art), a partner institution of CAFAIFC, along with Robert Borden, the Director of Enrollment of CIA visited IFC on April 1st.
They were warmly welcomed by Director Huang Li and Academic Director Tony Brown. The delegates had a nice chat with students who had applied to or were planning to apply to CIA. Seven students (Li Ang, Lian Lian, Qiu Danyi, etc.) have received offer letters from CIA. Through CIA’s maiden introductory visit in October and subsequent workshops, other students gained an initial understanding of CIA. In the colloquia, delegates answered various questions and the motto “CIA is responsible for every student!” introduced by Mr. Whittey really impressed students with its sense of responsibility. After the colloquia, applicants for CIA showed visitors their sketches and portfolios which earned high praise.
In the afternoon, the delegates visited the Department of Sculpture and Printmaking as well as the art museum. Later, the CIA and IFC discussed further plans and reached an agreement on future cooperation. Mr. Whittey was very pleased to see the achievements in the two-year cooperation and expressed hope that more of IFC’s quality students will choose CIA!
