IFC Attend 2014 LKK National University Workshop
On March 17th, Marketing Director, Ms. Wang Xiaodan of LKK Design School, invited Director Huang Li and more than 10 teachers and students from IFC Industrial Design and the Architecture department to attend the first lecture hosted by LKK at CAFA. The theme was“Creating your dream while starting your journey; Mapping the world while giving the lecture”.
Liu Haolin,a 2007 graduate of IFC,who now works at LKK Design Group after acquiring his master’s degree at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, was the executive producer of the lecture tour. The invited distinguished guest,Mr. Xu Ping, professor and chairman of the postgraduate department of CAFA, gave a speech at the event. He praised the many advantages of LKK and lauded the vital role they play teaching designstudents. Meanwhile, Mr. Xuexpressed hopes that,like LKK, more enterprises could pay increasing attention to investing in the cultivation of human resources. Following, Mr. Jia Wei, an honored designer in China as well as the founder of LKK Design Group, also gave a speech. In it he promised that LKK always focuses on cultivating human resources, and that is why LKK has hosted the national lecture tour at its 10th anniversary.
After the ceremony, Mr. Jia Wei gave a speech in which he talked about his own experience. In addition, he also shared with the studentsmany designs which have gained international awards.The students were deeply amazed.
Over the next two days, 5 students from IFC, Xiang Danrui, Shi Xiang, Ma Hao, Huang Bingjie and Li Meng participated in the workshop organized by LKK. At the beginning, Chen Bin from LKK detailedthe concepts and methods of packaging design in order to inform the students that there are always quite complicated thoughts behind even the simplest designs. After the explanation, students were divided into groups to work together to redesign existing packages and then present their new designs. Two IFC students, Ma Hao and Li Meng, won the second prize. The experience of this a packaging design workshop, granted the IFCstudents a better understanding of industrial design and product design.
