To develop students creative thinking and verbal expression, a featured project of CAFAIFC—— Students’ Presentation in Art Theory started a few days ago. As part of the project, every student was required to give a 15-minute lecture about his or her favorite artist. Tim Crowley, Head of HTAD department, had instructed them individually before it began.
Well-prepared, the students performed excellently! The artists they talked about included Zaha Hadid, Mike Nelson, David Hockney, Wang Jiawei, Alexander McQueen and Wang Guangyue, among others. Diverse media were used to make the presentations more interesting, such as music, video and PPT. Besides the speech materials, the speakers even provided the listeners with some questions for discussion.
Through this practical experience, the students’ analytic skills were greatly improved. To some extent, the student presentations were independently directed and presented!
