WHAT IF RABBITS HUNT HUMAN?
I was inspired by “CAZA DE CONEJOS” by Uruguayan writer Mario Lefrero. The book is a bizarre way of writing about a world that seems to be made up of confrontation -- a group of people going after rabbits, a forest of hunters, leading idiots, foresters, rabbits, and so on. But reading on, we are utterly unable to make out any clear identity. The sense of dislocation in "The Hunt for the Rabbit" is not caused by a change in narrative perspective, but by a fundamental cutting of the narrative's conventional logic. For example, in the first few pages, the hunters kill all the rabbits in the forest and then throw a "No Rabbit" sign into a fire. In the next page, the hunters become victims: "Ever since the rabbits took my parents hostage, I won't hunt rabbits anymore." I used that as inspiration to create a project. In my project, the rabbit is both erotic and violent, more an embodiment of desire. With the exchange of roles in the book, it symbolizes that people will be eaten by desire in the process of chasing desire. Finally, in the process of "hunting rabbits", he became the "rabbit" that was hunted.
