When there is a conflict between traditional sacrificial rituals and modern people's way of life, how should we maintain the connection between family and culture? In this graduation project, I explore this topic through the question "What if the sacrifice is not limited by space?" My design inspiration comes from the contradictions arising from the collision of traditional Chinese sacrificial culture and modern life: How should people who are far away from home and unable to participate in the sacrificial activities of traditional festivals feel and inherit the sacrificial culture and the "sense of belonging" of home? Taking this as a starting point, I created a pop-up ritual book that can be carried with you, which can help people who cannot return to their hometowns to perform ritual rituals anytime and anywhere, and to maintain connections with family and culture no matter where they are. This pop-up book consists of three parts: sacrificial scenes, sacrificial supplies and instructions, which can be freely combined and adjusted by people to suit different occasions and needs. My works are dedicated to discussing how to inherit traditional culture in modern society, and at the same time hope to provide people with a new way of sacrifice to meet the needs and psychology of modern life.
