This drawing wants to say : “what if there is another world?” In the past few years, a lot of unusual things have occurred around the world, such as sleepwalking, dissociative identity disorder, Mandela effect, multiverse theory, simulation theory and so on. I believe they are a kind of gateway to go to another world. I try to describe the weird things happening in our normal life by using a way that is familiar to all of us--peripheral vision, to stimulate people’s imagination about the existence of other world(s). In my work, I painted on convex mirrors, which could exaggerate our vision. When I was painting, I stared at the centre of the convex mirror, and painted the colour block without looking at my picture. At some moment, my peripheral sight could catch something that was similiar to a shadow. Where I saw one I used black to record their trace. By looking at that that drawing, people can experience the same way I see shadows in my peripheral vision. This work enables me to view the world in another way. When I was painting, I saw other interesting things like pink points, which were some abnormal colour that appeared floating in my vision when I drew under the sun. Without this painting experiment, maybe I would never see this kind of colour since it woudn’t occur in common vision. I believe these paintings can bring enlightenment to people, as they will care about many interesting things of our normal life.
