REUNITED这个主题让我想到了科技对人类生活的影响。我们无法想象没有手机、互联网、虚拟现实游戏甚至即将到来的5G技术的生活。我的灵感来自于玩虚拟现实游戏和看美剧《upload》的经历，在那里我发现我们创造的空间允许我们跨越虚拟和真实的世界之间的边界。在这个项目中，我探索了技术，让科技为我服务，而不是我为技术服务。我首先研究的是VR游戏设备内部的母板和电路。我提取了它的形状和颜色，并使用荧光涂料应用于PVC织物，开发新的图案。我用电脑屏幕上的霓虹色改变了跳绳的颜色，因为它让我想起电脑“身体”的“纹理”，并在Adobe Photoshop中进行了数码打印，后来我将其打印到织物上，作为我的最终作品。Iris Van Herpen的作品启发了我使用新的材料，用传统的方式结合在一起，探索了一些新的效果。使用的技术为我的项目,我主要使用人工面料,将PU,网状面料和有明亮颜色的跳绳结合编织，有着强烈对比的外观。作品体现了真实材料与数字技术应用相结合的理念，希望把观众带到未来的世界。

The given theme for my final work “Reunited” makes me think about the changes we’ve been through nowadays with technological impact on humans’ life. We cannot imagine life without technology like phones, the Internet, virtual reality games, or even the coming 5G technologies. I am inspired by the experience of playing VR games and watching futuristic TV series where I found out that we create the space that allows us to cross the borders between the virtual and real world. Within this project, I am exploring how technology may inspire me as a fashion & textile student and make technology serve for me not I serve to technology. I started by researching the mother plate and electric circuit inside of the devices, which help us to play the VR games. I extract the shape and color of it and use the fluorescent paint to apply for PVC fabric to develop new patterns. I use neon color ropes for skipping ropes to imitate what we saw on the computer screen and it reminds me of the “veins” of the computers ‘body’ and I developed it into digital print in Adobe Photoshop which later I printed onto the fabric for my final work. Iris Van Herpen’s works inspired me to use new materials and combine them together in a traditional way to explore some new effects. Using the idea of technology I mainly use artificial fabrics which come from the research of the inner structure of digital devices for my project. I explored the way to create new fabric by combining the PU, net fabric, and skipping ropes in bright colors. The result has strong contrast and I use it as detail in my final design. I want to lead the audience to the futuristic world with my work. It reflects the idea of combining the real material with the application of digital technology which allows me as a textile designer to have an opportunity to developing new ideas.
