This animation tells a story of a girl's life journey from birth to motherhood through the recombination of pictographs. It focuses on discussing the potential gender stereotypes in Chinese characters. The word itself is just a tool, not originally positive or negative. However, the discrimination is inevitably embedded in culture and shown in words. Rape, whore, slavery, greed, and jealousy - it is obvious that many negative words in Chinese characters are related to women in one way or another. The components of these words are "female", whether the object is female or not. The reason for this is that Chinese characters are pictographs, and the essence of pictographs is to outline the characteristics of the object by expressing them in concrete terms. Therefore, we can say that Chinese characters are like mirrors that reflect the social problems which have existed in China for thousands of years. Even though 3600 years have passed since the emergence of the oracle bones, the problem of gender stereotypes in Chinese characters and society still persists with the change of dynasties. The subject of this work is 'reunited'. The oracle bones have not yet been abstracted from their pictographic features, show the original appearance of these characters. The animation aims to take people back to the beginning of the rebirth of the characters and reorganize them. Hopefully, my work will move people out of the comfort zone of sexism for a few minutes, and provide a different perspective on the social issues reflect in Chinese characters.
