建筑设计项目“Re-house”的灵感源自课题“RESTART”（即“重启”）。它重启的意义在于将城市中的塑料、木材等废弃材料重新启用为建筑材料，并且将空余空间重新启用；与此同时，人们可以根据自身需求对该建筑重新建构；除此之外，它还可以被用于灾后重建。这也是它被命名为“Re-house”的原因。

Re-house的外形是易于组合的蜂巢六棱柱，这种独特设计让它既可以作为单独的建筑，也可以重复拼接成建筑群组。所以，我将Re-house设计成两种不同的尺寸以适应不同的用途。小型Re-house由四个六棱柱结构单元组成，每个单元几乎与人等高，因此它便于运输与组合，对于空余的空间和紧凑的时间都有很好的兼容性，这使得它可以被用作灾后临时房或大都市临时出租屋。大型Re-house由三个大六棱柱结构单元和若干个小六棱柱结构单元组成，在具备更大空间的同时，通过小六棱柱对空间进行切割的设计也别有趣味。因此，它更适合作为度假别墅或民宿长期使用；此外，还有延伸的Re-house社区设计，可以用于大型社区居住等。

RE-HOUSE is a project inspired by the theme “Restart”. It recycles waste plastic and wood as the construction material and reuses the empty space in the city. It can also be reconstructed according to the needs of the client. Moreover, it can be used for a temporary restart life after catastrophes. These are not only the reasons why it’s called "Re-house", but also the meanings of restart.

I did some research about the material, container houses and temporary facilities. Then, inspired by many modular architecture designs like Shigeru Ban’s Nomadic Museum, I decided to create an element that can be repeated and also be a building when its a single unit. I used the hexagonal shape as they are easy to construct and special in shape. I did some sketches and made a paper model to see how elements stuck together. Later, I transferred it into Sketchup.

In the final work, there are two different size of Re-house with different specialties. The small Re-house is constructed by four hexagons with different functions in each hexagon. It can be placed on the roof of the building or in any empty space, no matter it’s rural or urban. It can be used as temporary house after catastrophe, too. It’s easy to transport and construct.

The big Re-house is constructed by 3 big hexagons with 5 small hexagons inside. It can be placed in nature and serve as holiday bungalow. It has bigger and richer space which makes it possible for longtime living. I also did an extended design of the Re-house Community. The houses were organized in circles and allow people to socialize with each other. Overall, it is a flexible design project with high capacity for adaptation.
